About Us

We are are very small multi-generational family continuing the tradition of operating a working farm, located  just a stone's throw away from the beautiful and historic Mohawk Trail in Shelburne, Massachusetts. Through farming the old fashioned way: using very little machinery and a lot of hard, hands-on toil, combined with the old-fashioned breeds and grazing animals in their natural environments, we hope to instill a love of healthy eating, the earth and living creatures into our sons. We invite you to post comments, and read about our farm and family at our wordpress blog.

You can find our price list and current meats available at the blog as well.

We are raising happy and healthy animals in Western New England. We are focusing on feeding animals grains that are produced at a New England feed cooperative company who uses no antibiotics, or hormones, or animal byproducts. That means that our animals are eating 100% vegetarian feeds. Our preference to raise heritage breed animals is with the express intent to contribute to the genetic diversity of the breed, and in turn satisfy the discerning palates of valley foodies. (We know you are out there!)
If you are interested in purchasing chicken, eggs, grassfed heritage beef, or heritage breed pastured pork, or veal, please contact us.

Farm History

The Wells Tavern was a working, public gathering place for locals and visitors during the 18th and19th centuries. Since the 50's, registered Jersey dairy cows roamed the farm.  Now, we mend and put up fences for pastured Jerseys, Belties, pigs, geese, ducks and chickens.
